Pineapple dip

A sweeter snack that's a good alternative to hummus or guacamole

This Polynesian dip is slightly unusual because it’s sweet – but is still delicious with bread and raw vegetable sticks. Polynesia, which means 'many islands', is the name of an area in the Pacific Ocean which includes thousands of islands.

Suitable for young cooks



  • ½ green pepper, roughly chopped
  • ½ small onion, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 150g low-fat cream cheese
  • 1 x 230g can pineapple chunks or slices, drained
  • 30g pecan nuts
5 minutes

Nutrition information (per serving)

5 A DAY:
  1. Put all the ingredients in a food processor and blend them.
  2. That’s it! Transfer to a bowl and serve cold.
You can use the juice from your canned pineapple for a yummy dessert – mix with low-fat yoghurt and serve with chopped fruit
