WCRF saddened by Laurence Isaacson's death
Restaurant entrepreneur had been WCRF UK's Board Chairman for many years
World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) is sad to announce the death of our Board Chairman, Laurence Isaacson CBE. He died on 23 October 2018 at the age of 75, after a short illness.
Laurence joined the WCRF board in 2002, becoming chairman in 2011, and contributed greatly to the work of the charity, as well as being involved in the wider WCRF network.
Laurence, a restaurant owner and businessman, was awarded a CBE in 1998 for his services to the restaurant and tourism industry. After starting his career with Unilever, he set up a creative agency and subsequently co-founded the national restaurant group Chez Gerard. He later became chairman of Soho restaurant L’Escargot.
His business expertise, as well as his extensive knowledge of development, marketing and promotion, was invaluable to WCRF, and he will be sadly missed.
