Ingredients

  • 1 wholemeal pitta, lightly toasted
  • 2–3 leaves little gem lettuce, shredded
  • 1 x medium tomato, sliced
  • 30g reduced-fat cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons reduced-fat hummus

5 A DAY: 1

Method

  1. Cut the pitta in half and open up each pocket, being careful of any steam that’s released.
  2. Inside each pocket, add a small amount of spread.
  3. Then fill each half with the lettuce, tomato, grated cheese and hummus. Enjoy!

Twist it

You can make the sandwich vegan, by swapping the cheddar cheese for a vegan cheese variety.

Make your own hummus and save the rest for another day.
