Our policy on animal testing

World Cancer Research Fund itself does not do any animal testing and we endorse the good practice standards set by the Association of Medical Research Charities.

In theory, we might consider providing a grant to another organisation where animals could be tested as part of their research, if there was absolutely no other alternative, and where it was essential to better understand cancer and prevent and cure this terrible disease.

Any research body applying for funding is required to fully justify the use of animals and clearly explain the relevance to humans.
