Charity launches Bolton competition for signed Amir Khan T-shirt
March 19, 2008

The World Cancer Research Fund has launched a competition for Bolton residents to win a T-shirt signed by Amir Khan.

The Bolton-born boxing star has signed the T-shirt for World Cancer Research Fund to help raise awareness for Fruity Friday, the charity’s annual fundraising and awareness-raising event.

WCRF is asking people in Bolton to vote for their favourite fruit and one of the charity’s nutritionists will then create a healthy recipe based on the most popular fruit that will named after the town. One lucky voter will be sent the T-shirt.

Lucie Galice, General Manager of WCRF, said: “It is really great that Amir has shown his support for Fruity Friday by donating a signed T-shirt.

“As well as helping us to find out Bolton’s favourite fruit, hopefully Amir’s support will help inspire people to get involved with Fruity Friday.

“It is lots of fun and also a great way of raising awareness that by eating a healthy diet, being physically active and maintaining a healthy weight, people can make a real difference to their cancer risk.”

To get involved with Fruity Friday, go to www.fruityfriday.org or call 020 7343 4200. To enter the competition, email your favourite fruit together with your name, address and contact number to pr@wcrf.org
