What is Fruity Friday?

Watch our video to find out more about Fruity Friday:

Fruity Friday takes place during WCRF UK's annual Cancer Prevention Week, which this year is between the 10th and 16th of May. Cancer Prevention Week aims to promote healthy lifestyle choices, including healthy eating, physical activity and maintaining a healthy weight, that can help prevent up to a third of all cancers.

Fruity Friday is an annual awareness and fundraising campaign by World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK), to increase public awareness of the links between diet, nutrition and cancer prevention, and to raise valuable funds for cancer research and education programmes of cancer prevention.

Find out how you can get involved in WCRF UK's Go Bananas on Fruity Friday campaign on any Friday in 2010.

Why support World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK)?

One in three people in the UK will develop cancer at some point in their lives. About a third of the most common cancers can be prevented by eating healthily, being physically active and maintaining a healthy weight. WCRF UK is the principal charity in the UK dedicated to funding research and education programmes into the prevention of cancer.

WCRF UK is committed to providing cancer research and education programmes that expand our understanding of the importance of our food and lifestyle choices in the cancer process. By spreading the good news that cancer can be prevented, WCRF UK hopes that many thousands of lives will be saved.
