Diggy Wild

Diggy Wild will be running the 26.2 mile course of the Berlin Marathon to raise vital funds for World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK). The donations she receives will help to carry out our cancer prevention research and education programmes. "I am running the ‘Berlin Marathon’ in support of all the people who have ever been affected by cancer – directly or indirectly. It is an awful disease, not only for the bearer but also for the surrounding family and friends.

The work that WCRF UK does and continues to do so is priceless and I am very proud and very honoured to be taking part in this event and I hope to raise an incredible amount of money for this fantastic organisation.

For those of you that know me, you will know that I am not a ‘natural runner’. I am 44 years old but luckily for me I love a ‘challenge’ and ‘hard work’ is my middle name! The training is hard and will progressively get harder but when I cross that finish line I will have achieved ‘quite possibly’ the hardest, biggest thing I have ever done.

…For my Mum and Emma, this is for you guys, you have both beaten cancer recently and your strength and determination throughout your ordeal has been incredible. I will raise a glass of champagne to you both when I cross that line!! And to myself of course…
