"2011 has been a very significant year for me in terms of strong emotional contrasts.  In May, I sadly lost my dear Nanny Edna; who I was extremely close with. She was lucky to live a long and happy life with her family around her but sadly passed away as a result of cancer of the oesophagus.  

In July I got married to my partner Gareth.  We had the most amazing day with all our friends and family around us, and it gave me comfort to know that Nanny would have loved it.

I've been running for just over a year, and have found that it has helped me deal with the highs and lows of the year.  It gives me time to think, time to be on my own, fresh air and it keeps me healthy... as well as helping burn off all the chocolate I eat!

I have chosen to run for WCRF UK because of their commitment to cancer prevention. Cancer is something that affects us all. We all have friends and family that have been affected by cancer and it means a lot to be able to help support such an incredible cause.

The Marathon will take place in April 2012.  Please help keep me training through the dark, cold wintry days.  All donations, whatever the amount are very much appreciated."
