£100 Challenge
Are you ready to take on the £100 Challenge?
World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK) invites you to take up the £100 Challenge in a bid to help us raise £30,000 for cancer prevention Sign up today!
It’s really simple – just raise £100 by holding events or a variety of fundraising activities. By taking up our £100 Challenge you will raise funds for the vital cancer research and education programmes funded by WCRF UK. 1 in 3 people will develop cancer in the UK, which is why we need to spread the good news that cancer is largely preventable.
By taking up the £100 Challenge you will help us spread this positive message and the £100 you raise could help us to fund more than half a day of life-saving research or produce 800 life saving cancer prevention leaflets.
You may be brimming with ideas on what your £100 challenge will be, but if you need some inspiration see our A–Z of fundraising ideas.
Handy Hints
Follow these simple steps and download our fundraising materials to help ensure that your £100 Challenge is a success.
- Set a time and date for the event.
- Find a suitable venue (remember you may need a licence - if in doubt check with your local authority).
- Work out how many people will be involved e.g. how many will participate/attend? Also remember to get parental consent if the participants are under 18.
- Work out a budget (try to keep costs as low as possible) and write a checklist for all aspects of the event. Delegate jobs to friends and family who wish to be involved. Check whether you need insurance for your chosen challenge.
- Advertise your activity - get local press involved and see if they will promote it on tv/radio/newspapers. Tell everyone you know about the event and tell them to spread the word. If you wish to use our logo, please email us us here to request use. After your event don’t forget to tell the local press what a success it was.
- Use our official sponsorship form for any sponsored events (don’t forget to ask your supporters to tick the gift aid box and record their full home address and postcode when they fill in the form). This allows us to claim an extra 28p for every £1 from the government at no extra cost to them.
When your event has been completed, and the funds have been collected, just print off and fill in this payment slip then send it back to us with a cheque for the total amount that you raised.
We would love to hear about how you raised your £100. Please email us your stories and pictures.
And finally good luck!
Disclaimer: In taking part in the £100 Challenge you are raising money in aid of World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK). WCRF UK cannot accept responsibility for your event nor anyone that participates in it. Your activity should be clear that you are fundraising for our aid but that you do not represent the charity.
