"In the 10th year anniversary of losing my dad to lung cancer caused by asbestosis, and I felt it would be a fitting tribute to take on the Great North Run to fundraise for the World Cancer Research Fund. I felt it was right to choose a charity that works towards prevention.

I particularly wanted to do the Great North Run, as I spent three years in Newcastle at university – and never managed to do the run – too much studying, obviously(!). I’m being joined by my friend Kristian, who is also running for the WCRF.
