Welcome to World Cancer Research Fund • United Kingdom
Flora London Marathon – Sunday 26 April 2009

Hélène Cacace

Hélène Cacace, a producer for More4 News (part of Channel 4 News), is committed to supporting the work of WCRF UK by running in her first ever marathon and raising as much money as she can. Please support her in the lead up to the big day, and help her to raise her sponsorship target by donating generously below.

"Thank you for sponsoring me! You couldn't have picked a better cause. Or athlete...

World Cancer Research Fund's aim is to reduce the risk of cancer through research and education. I'm really pleased to be running for them as several of my relatives - including all four of my grandparents - have suffered from or lost their lives to cancer. That's why I want to do my bit to help prevent the disease.

As you know I'm not exactly a born runner. In fact, up until I started training over the summer, I hated running.  I never thought I'd need to buy trainers for specifically sporty reasons, or be able to run around several parks in one go - not to mention find so many new uses for Vaseline - but here I am getting ready to run 26 miles.

Yes, the prospect of a svelte body and fleeting recognition at the finish line is spurring me on - but raising money for such a worthy cause is a greater motivation.

I'm aiming to raise £2000 for this marathon. I know that cash is especially tight at the moment, so any amount you can spare will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hélène"
