Thomas Simpson
Thomas Simpson from Bradford was named our autumn 2008 Supporter of the Quarter.
When he was only 12 years old, together with his classmates at Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College, Thomas organised a sponsored run to raise money for WCRF UK.
He wanted to do something to support his dad Kevin, who was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. The day was a great success – 21 pupils competed and helped Thomas raise £200 for WCRF UK’s cancer prevention research and education work.
“I am happy that I could do something for my dad by helping a cancer charity,” explained Thomas. “We had great fun on the day. I was really pleased that so many of my friends took part and my mum and dad were there to cheer us on.”
Thomas is a real inspiration to us all at WCRF UK. We would like to thank him for his hard work and support. We would also like to send his dad Kevin, and his family, our best wishes.
