Maureen Sommerville

Maureen Sommerville, 65, of Sedgley, has supported WCRF UK for the past 11 years. After battling breast cancer she turned to WCRF UK for cancer prevention information.
Yoga fanatic Maureen said: “I’m delighted to be promoting WCRF UK’s message to other people so they can help prevent cancer and avoid going through misery.
“I decided to become more proactive about my health and diet after the sledgehammer treatment of surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and drugs. WCRF UK’s advice and information helped me greatly in doing that.”
She added: “I’ve got children and grandchildren. I want them to live a healthy life and so I believe it’s important to help with WCRF UK’s funding so they can get the message of healthy eating and healthy living out to the public.”
Maureen has been a great support to our work as well as featuring in WCRF UK’s video talking about the positive changes she made to her diet and lifestyle following her cancer diagnosis:
Maureen is an inspiration to all and we’d like to thank her for sharing her story.
